About Kellie
You could say Kellie began her spiritual awakening process when she walked into a bookstore with Galia strapped to her in an early version of a baby carrier. She came across The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard. Mr. Renard’s work was such a fun way to discover A Course in Miracles, Kellie’s biblical anchor for truth. ACIM offers an explanation of the ego that finds the solution to suffering in forgiveness. Shortly after this revelation, a friend in her doula class introduced her to LightSong School of Shamanic Studies in Gresham, OR in 2007. Curious about the visceral practice of shamanism, she jumped into Level 1 – The Shamanic Journey with Lauri Shainsky. Within weeks she also received her Level 1 and 2 Reiki Attunements with Colleen Benelli. Then, Kellie continued to Level 2 Shamanism with Jan Engles-Smith, which involved a more in-depth look at what was possible with the shamanic journey.
Kellie was drawn to the fact that shamanism involved the whole person, mind-body-spirit, as well as nature. She attended 2 sweat lodges. In one, Lauri Shainsky poured water over the rocks in the tent and oversaw the group with her guides. They instructed the attendees to imagine their happiest future moment. With Galia being her only child at the time, Kellie envisioned her future self in a garden with 5 children. As her children were born she would reflect in awe back to that vision in the sweatlodge!
Another Spirit-supported event was a Fire-walking Ceremony the same year. Rather than walking on the coals, Kellie volunteered to walk into the point of an arrow and successfully snapped it in half with the humble strength of her neck! Soon afterward, she found herself pregnant with her second child, Malik. Her husband at the time, Moez, joined the US Army. Following Malik’s birth, that was supported at home by Alma Midwifery, their first duty station was Fort Riley, Kansas; Malik was a mere three months old. Kellie left her midwifery goals in Portland and dedicated herself wholly to motherhood. With every subsequent move and birth, Kellie continued to hone her skills of journeying, reiki, and birth knowledge.
Intensely curious about what her guides could teach her, but struggling to calm her mind and lacking the free time for lengthy drumming journeys, Kellie would go for walks to calm her anxiety; always looking for trees to walk among. With some help from books like Opening to Channel and a few workshops, she learned that she needed about 15 minutes in the forest to be able to hear her guides consistently. As the shamanic journey evolved into channeling, Kellie began to recognize that her guides could be likened to her Holy Spirit or Higher Self; which reveals itself as archetypes teaching through themes. Currently, Kellie has a YouTube Channel dedicated to sharing what her Higher Self teaches her about how to be of this world but not in it, and therefore, less affected by its density--they call it lucid dreaming. It will come as no surprise that they highly recommend forest bathing!
Pulling from both her knowledge of birth and her Spirit-led intuition, Kellie aims to empower her clients toward a delightful birth experience.
